Brazilian Jiu Jitsu (BJJ)
BJJ is a martial art that does not require any punches or kicks!
Its effectiveness is based on simple levers and the correct use of body weight.
Top Brother Erkrath
Top Brother is a club for Brazilian Jiu Jitsu (BJJ) and is led by Alex Sandro Malheiro (3rd DAN). It is the German branch of the Top Brother Brazil team, founded by Mestre Cezar Guimarães "Casquinha".
The focus is on BJJ, but the original idea of self-defense is also important, which is why we have developed our own self-defense course on the basis of the BJJ.
At the kids training, which is particularly important, the Winners BJJ program is used.
Top Brother offers courses for adults, children and also women-only courses.
While many martial arts look for an open exchange of blows and stand in the way of an opponent, BJJ uses a different technique. It avoids any trial of strength and goes where a physically stronger opponent can only use its strength suboptimal, namely in the clinch and in the ground fight. Here the body is used in a targeted manner with leverage techniques in order to achieve maximum performance/results with little effort.
BJJ is the ideal sport, regardless of whether you are young, old, female, male, physically fit or more of a couch potato.
It teaches ones own body, ones own strength, to assess and control, respect, discipline as well as gratitude and courtesy. It strengthens self-confidence, the ability to pay attention, and body control. It gives security and teaches goal setting.
Hardly any martial art adapts as perfectly to the individual trainee as BJJ. It doesn' t matter if you' re tall, short, lanky by nature or a mountain of muscles, everyone can develop their own style in BJJ and become successful with it.

Everyone is welcome!
In BJJ there is a grading system in the form of belts. But on the mat, everyone is the same. Here men and women of all experience levels train together and learn from and with each other. The training is characterized by fairness and respect. It is not uncommon for a special spirit of cohesion and friendship to develop in BJJ groups.
The road to success in this sport requires patience, but it' s worth it! Everyone trains at their own pace and finds their personal rhythm. The team always stands together - the important thing is the first step...
